Noordhorn ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Westerkwartier der niederländischen Provinz Groningen. Das nördlich des Van Starkenborghkanals gelegene Dorf hat 1.365 Einwohner. Der Name Noordhorn bedeutet: nordwestliche Ecke und bezieht sich auf den Verlauf des Geschiebemergels, der im Saale gebildet wurde und hier eine Biegung macht. Auf dieser Sandrücken, der Teil der Rolderrug ist, liegt das Dorf. An einer zweiten Biegung, etwas weiter südlich, entstand das Dorf Zuidhorn.
