Bontebok ist ein Dorf in Heerenveen in der Provinz Friesland, Niederlande. Es hatte 2017 eine Bevölkerungszahl von rund 400. Das Dorf wurde 1640 erstmals als Bonte Bock erwähnt und ist nach einer Herberge benannt, die eine Ziege als Schild verwendete. Bontebok entwickelte sich während des Torfabbaus in der Region. Die Herberge befand sich in der Nähe einer Schleuse, wo Bootsmänner warten mussten. Später kamen ein paar Geschäfte und Kneipen hinzu, und es entstand ein Weiler. 1840 lebten in Bontebok 46 Menschen. 1898 wurde in Bontebok eine Molkerei eröffnet.
