Onstwedde ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Stadskanaal in der Region Westerwolde der Provinz Groningen. Onstwedde hatte im Jahr 2007 noch 3.040 Einwohner. Im Jahr 2021 zählte das Dorf 2.960 Einwohner. Einst war Onstwedde eine eigenständige Gemeinde, wurde aber 1969 mit einem Teil der Gemeinde Wildervank zusammengelegt und in die Gemeinde Stadskanaal umbenannt, wobei das Wappen erhalten blieb. Das Rathaus von Onstwedde befand sich ursprünglich in Onstwedde selbst, wurde aber bereits im 19. Jahrhundert nach Stadskanaal verlegt. Das alte Rathaus steht an der Brink und ist ein Denkmal.
