Onstwedde es una aldea en el municipio de Stadskanaal en la región de Westerwolde de la provincia de Groningen. Onstwedde contaba en 2007 con 3.040 habitantes. En 2021, la aldea tenía 2.960 habitantes. En su día, Onstwedde fue un municipio independiente, pero en 1969 se fusionó con una parte del municipio de Wildervank y se renombró como municipio de Stadskanaal, conservando el escudo. La oficina del municipio de Onstwedde estaba inicialmente en Onstwedde mismo, pero en el siglo XIX se trasladó a Stadskanaal. La antigua oficina del municipio se encuentra en la Brink y es un monumento.
