Klimmen ist ein Dorf in Südlimburg und war bis 1982 eine eigenständige Gemeinde, die in die heutige Gemeinde Voerendaal aufgegangen ist. Im Jahr 2021 hatte das Dorf etwa 3.070 Einwohner, einschließlich der zugehörigen Nachbarschaften und Weiler. Der Name klingt vielleicht auffällig und ist tatsächlich vom Verb 'klimmen' abgeleitet, da der Ort über verschiedene Zugangswege erreicht werden kann, indem man einen Hügel besteigt. Sowohl tagsüber als auch bei Dunkelheit ist der Ort aufgrund der hohen Lage und der abends beleuchteten Remigiuskirche aus der gesamten Region erkennbar.
