Im längsten Wald der Niederlande (8 Kilometer) trotzen Sie Höhenunterschieden von etwa 100 Metern! Also ein echtes Hangwald, aber es gibt auch flache Stellen. Es gibt Nadel- und Laubwald, in den tiefergelegenen Bereichen fließen verschiedene Bächlein und an den Waldrändern weiter oben genießen Sie großartige Ausblicke.
Der Vijlenerwald ist einer der schönsten Wälder in Südlimburg. Es ist ein bekanntes Gebiet, aber groß genug, um ruhige Stellen zu finden. Nachts wird es hier stockdunkel und die Sternenbeobachtung ist fantastisch. Besonders sind auch die seltenen Waldbewohner, die hier leben, wie der Waschbär, der Steinmarder und die Wildkatze.
