Nel bos più lungo dei Paesi Bassi (8 chilometri) affronti dislivelli di circa 100 metri! È quindi una vera foresta in pendenza, ma ci sono anche tratti pianeggianti. Ci sono foreste di conifere e latifoglie, scorrono vari ruscelli nelle parti più basse e ai margini del bosco, in alto, puoi godere di panorami fantastici.
Il Vijlenerbos è una delle foreste più belle del Sud-Limburgo. È un'area conosciuta, ma abbastanza grande da cercare i tratti tranquilli. Di notte qui diventa buio pesto ed è un ottimo posto per osservare le stelle. Sono particolari anche i rari animali della foresta che vivono qui, come il tasso, la martora e il gatto selvatico.
