Man glaubt, man befindet sich hier auf den Sanddünen der Veluwe. Charakteristisch sind die Kiefernbäume, aber auch der Wacholder wächst hier. So muss die gesamte Utrechtse Heuvelrug vor über 100 Jahren ausgesehen haben. Die Utrechtse Landschaft ist seit 1982 Eigentümer und setzt sich enorm für den Erhalt dieses einzigartigen Naturstücks ein.
