In der südwestlichen Ecke des heutigen Von Clermontplein befand sich einst eine kleine Schul (Zweigkirche) der jüdischen Gemeinde von Vaals. Im Judentum ist die Synagoge der Ort des jüdischen Gottesdienstes. Das Gebäude dient auch als Lernzentrum und Gemeindesaal. Seit Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts befand sich die erste Synagoge in Vaals im Haus der Witwe Guns.
