Der Katjeswald ist ein kleines Auenwäldchen. Er ist spontan entstanden, nachdem der Lehm abgebaut wurde. Der Wald besteht hauptsächlich aus Schotwillen und Schwarzpappeln. Während eines Januarsturms im Jahr 2018 wurden viele Bäume umgekippt. Im Wald leben typische Waldvögel wie der große und der grüne Specht, der Baumläufer und der Kleiber. Auch brütet dort fast jedes Jahr ein Mäusebussard.
