Le Katjesbos est un petit bosquet alluvionnaire. Il s'est formé naturellement après que l'argile a été excavée. Le bosquet se compose principalement de saules et de peupliers noirs. Lors d'une tempête en janvier 2018, de nombreux arbres ont été déracinés. Dans la forêt vivent des oiseaux typiques des forêts tels que le pic épeiche et le pic vert, le grimpereau et le sizerin. Un busard niche presque chaque année également.
