St. Jozefkapelle
Im Jahr 1699 wurde in dem Weiler Smakt eine Kapelle zu Ehren von St. Joseph erbaut. Dies geschah auf Anordnung von Baron Johannes, Albertus van der Boye und Neerijsche, Herrn von Schloss Macken. Das wichtigste Motiv für den Bau war die große Entfernung von Smakt zur Pfarrkirche im Dorf Venray. Im Laufe des 18. Jahrhunderts entwickelte sich die Verehrung des Josephs etwas und die Kapelle begann, auch Pilger anzuziehen. Erst ab 1887 entwickelte sich Smakt zu einem wichtigen Wallfahrtsort. Es ist der einzige Wallfahrtsort von St. Joseph in den Niederlanden. St. Joseph ist der Schutzpatron eines glücklichen Lebensstandes, der christlichen Familie und eines seligen Todes. Noch immer zieht die St. Jozefkapelle eine große Anzahl von Besuchern an.
