Die PEN-Insel, auch als Diemer Fünfeck bekannt, ist eine größtenteils künstliche Halbinsel von 80 Hektar im IJmeer neben dem Elektrizitätswerk Diemen in Over-Diemen, dem östlichen Teil der Gemeinde Diemen.
Die fünfeckige Insel entstand in den 1970er Jahren, als eine Baugrube für den Bau des Elektrizitätswerks, das vom Provinzialen Elektrizitätsunternehmen Noord-Holland errichtet wurde, ausgebaggert wurde. Das Baggergut wurde außerhalb der Dämme entsorgt und bildete eine sumpfige Insel, die später mit Deichen versehen wurde. Auf den höher gelegenen Teilen der Insel entstand ein Weidenbruch. Die tiefer gelegenen Teile bestehen hauptsächlich aus Schilfland.
