Die Katholiken in Hedel verfügten zunächst über eine Sint-Willibrordus-Kirche, die jedoch 1571 zur reformierten Religion überging, und 1640 wurde an dieser Stelle eine neue Kirche gebaut.
Die Katholiken konnten ab 1680 eine Schuurkirche nutzen, die sich an der Molendijk befand. Als die Religionsgemeinschaften in der Zeit der Französischen Revolution gleichgestellt wurden, konnte eine neue Kirche gebaut werden. Diese wurde an der Stelle des Niederhofs des Schlosses Hedel errichtet. 1802 wurde diese Kirche mit Pfarrhaus in Gebrauch genommen. Dieses Gebäude wurde 1944 zerstört.
