Die Mühle wurde 1724 als Nachfolger einer Pfahlmühle erbaut. Die Mühle blieb bis 1969 in Betrieb und wurde 1971 von der damaligen Gemeinde Sint Philipsland übernommen. 1972 und 1988 wurde die Mühle restauriert. Im letzten Jahr wurde die Mühle, die auf dem Deich steht, aufgrund der Erhöhung des Deiches im Rahmen der Deltawerke mit angehoben. Die Mühle ist im Besitz der Gemeinde Tholen.
