Der Bombenangriff auf Middelburg fand in den Maitagen von 1940, am 17. Mai 1940 während des Kampfes in Zeeland, statt. Ein großer Teil der historischen Altstadt von Middelburg wurde durch das entstandene Feuer zerstört. Obwohl es als Bombardement bezeichnet wird, handelt es sich hauptsächlich um einen Artilleriebeschuss. Welche der kämpfenden Parteien dafür verantwortlich war, ist jedoch nie vollständig klar geworden.
