Hornerheide ist der Name eines ehemaligen Tuberkulose-Sanatoriums, gelegen nordwestlich von Horn an der Durchgangsstraße von Horn nach Heythuysen. Hornerheide liegt in einer waldreichen Umgebung. Das Sanatorium wurde 1921 vom Limburgischen Grünen Kreuz gegründet. Das Limburgische Grüne Kreuz Sanatorium wurde von den Schwestern der Dienerinnen des Heiligen Geistes aus Steyl geleitet. In den Jahren 1926 und 1927 wurde das Gesamtareal erweitert, unter anderem mit der Waldkapelle und dem Mariapavillon. Zu dieser Zeit waren es die Kleinen Schwestern des Heiligen Joseph, die das Ganze betreuten. 1934 ging das Sanatorium an die römisch-katholische Stiftung Gesund Limburg über und der Name wurde in Hornerheide geändert. 1952 folgte eine weitere Erweiterung und es wurden das Ariënspavillon und das Poelspavillon gebaut. Sie wurden durch offene Galerien verbunden.
