Hornerheide è il nome di un ex sanatorio per tubercolotici, situato a nord-ovest di Horn lungo la strada principale da Horn a Heythuysen. Hornerheide si trova in un'area boschiva. Il sanatorio fu fondato nel 1921 dalla Croce Verde del Limburgo. Il Sanatorio della Croce Verde del Limburgo era gestito dalle Suore Serve dello Spirito Santo di Steyl. Nel 1926 e 1927 il complesso fu ampliato, tra l'altro con la cappella nel bosco e il padiglione di Maria. In quel periodo erano le Piccole Sorelle di San Giuseppe che si occupavano dell'intero complesso. Nel 1934 il sanatorio passò alla fondazione cattolica romana Salute Limburgo e il nome fu cambiato in Hornerheide. Nel 1952 seguì un ulteriore ampliamento e furono costruiti il padiglione Ariën e il padiglione Poel. Furono collegati da gallerie aperte.
