Camp IJbenheer ist ein ehemaliges jüdisches Arbeitslager. Nach dem Krieg hatte das Lager verschiedene Funktionen. Schließlich waren hier die ehemaligen KNIL-Soldaten und ihre Familien vorübergehend untergebracht. Das war in der Zeit von 1951 bis 1960. Danach verfiel das Lager und wurde größtenteils abgerissen.
Aufgrund des großen historischen Wertes haben Natuurmonumenten und das Dorf Fochteloo die Umrisse des Lagers und der Kaserne neu kartiert. Mittlerweile gibt es einen Wanderweg, ein Denkmal und mehrere Informationstafeln, die die Geschichte dieser Gegend lebendig halten.
