Die Paardekop ist ein Naturschutzgebiet mit Heide, einigen Venns und vielen Kiefernwäldern knapp südlich von Ysselsteyn. Es liegt höher als die Umgebung, wodurch es ein trockenes Gebiet ist. Als die Torfmoräste der Peel früher noch nicht entwässert waren, konnte man die Peel am besten über die Paardekop durchqueren. Diese Verbindung wurde die "Swarte Baen" genannt. Es gibt auch einen Aussichtsturm in der Paardekop.
