Die St. Elisabeth-Kathedrale ist eine gotische Kathedrale in Košice. Sie ist die größte Kirche der Slowakei. Der Nachweis über die Existenz von Košice aus dem Jahr 1230 steht im Zusammenhang mit dem der Pfarrkirche. Im Verlauf der Transformation der Siedlung von einer ländlichen Gemeinde zu einer Stadt spiegelten sich alle ihre Perioden des Erfolgs und Misserfolgs in der St. Elisabeth-Kathedrale wider.
Laut historischen Daten wurde die heutige Kathedrale an der Stelle eines älteren Gebäudes errichtet, das ebenfalls St. Elisabeth geweiht war. Sie wurde im Dokument von Papst Martin V. aus dem Jahr 1283 und im Brief von 1290 erwähnt, der besagte, dass der Bischof von Eger, Andreas II., die Pfarrei Košice von der Zuständigkeit des Dekans befreite.
