Poysdorf is located in the northern Weinviertel on the Brünner Straße, in the Weinviertler hill country and in the valley of the Poybach, which flows into the Zaya between Rannersdorf an der Zaya and Hauskirchen. The municipality is intersected by the Weinviertel Trail, which runs from Drasenhofen to Langenzersdorf, as well as a branch of the Camino de Santiago, which comes from the Holy Mountain near Nikolsburg Svatý kopeček u Mikulova in the South Moravian town of Nikolsburg in the Okres Břeclav and leads to Krems an der Donau, being part of the Via Francigena and the Via Slavica.
