Semriach is a market municipality with 3,279 inhabitants on the northern side of the Schöckl in the Graz-Umgebung district in Styria. Semriach is located about 25 km north of the state capital Graz on a high plateau, the Semriach basin in the Graz mountain region in East Styria. Within the municipality, there are seven mountains over 1,000 meters high: Schöckl, Niederschöckl, Hochtrötsch, Fragnerberg, Windhofkogel, Rinnweberkogel, and Rechbergkogel.
