Fügen, with 4283 inhabitants, is the most populous municipality in the Zillertal and belongs to the district of Schwaz in Tyrol. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Zell am Ziller. Fügen is considered the main town of the upper Zillertal. The town is situated on the broad alluvial fan of the Rischbach River. The municipal area consists of the clustered village of Fügen with 2716 inhabitants and the localities of Gagering in the north with 187 inhabitants, Kapfing in the south with 990 inhabitants, and the former industrial settlement of Kleinboden on the Finsingbach in the southwest with 390 inhabitants.
