Hainzenberg is a municipality with 739 residents in the Zillertal valley and belongs to the Schwaz district in Tyrol. The municipality is located in the Zell am Ziller judicial district. Hainzenberg lies southeast of Zell am Ziller at the beginning of the Gerlos Valley, on a slope. The Gerlosbach and the Weißbachl flowing from the slopes of the Torhelm form the borders of the municipal area in the north and east, which extends in the Zillertal valley almost to Ramsau. The altitude ranges from 600 meters above sea level in the northwest to over 2300 meters in the south. The area of just over twenty square kilometers is sixty percent forested. One quarter consists of pastures, and ten percent is used for agriculture.
