Thal was the place where Arnold Schwarzenegger spent his childhood. He left the village in 1966. The town has also a musuem dedicated to their hero (since 2011). On display at the museum are his childhood bed, a motorbike from one of the Terminator films, some of his first dumb-bells, and a copy of the desk he used as governor of California.
