Naas is located at an altitude of 400 m to 1270 m above sea level and has a total area of 20.84 km². The highest mountain in the vicinity is Patscha, other mountains include Hirschkogel and Gösser. The discovery of a hammer axe made of serpentine dating back to 2500 BC shows how early the area was already settled. At Sturmberg and Weizklamm, clay vessels, bronze coins, fish hooks, and fish spears from Roman times were found.
