The Roman Catholic parish church of Altmünster is a listed sacred building in the market town of Altmünster in the district of Gmunden in Upper Austria. As a parish church, it is part of the Gmunden deanery of the Diocese of Linz. It is under the patronage of Saint Benedict.
Altmünster is one of the oldest parishes in Upper Austria. The history of the parish dates back to the 8th century. Between 748 and 777, a Benedictine abbey was very likely founded. In 909, the monastery of Altmünster is mentioned in a document. At the latest by 955, the monastery was disbanded and the abbey became a parish.
