The parish church of Ebelsberg is located in the Linz district of Ebelsberg in Upper Austria. The Roman Catholic parish church of St. John the Baptist belongs to the Linz-South deanery in the diocese of Linz. The church is a protected monument. Since 1250, Ebelsberg has been an independent parish belonging to the Abbey of St. Florian. The church was first explicitly mentioned in 1263. In 1778, Kleinmünchen became a branch of Ebelsberg and has been an independent parish since 1892. In 1787, the originally adjacent parish cemetery was relocated to its current site. In 1809, the church was destroyed by a fire during the Battle of Ebelsberg by Napoleon's troops, which affected the entire market of Ebelsberg. In 1829, the rebuilt parish church was consecrated by Bishop Gregor Thomas Ziegler.
