Thierbach is the smallest and highest of the four parish villages of Wildschönau in the Kufstein district. The area of the cadastral municipality is 2,656.77 ha. Thierbach is both a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Wildschönau and – not completely overlapping – a locality with 160 inhabitants, some of whose houses are located in the cadastral municipality of Oberau.
