A circular ride with a number of challenging climbs, especially in the first half, but richly rewards riders with views of the Gurgltal and Mieming Mountains. The second section is a straightforward and beautiful ride along the long-distance cycle path in the Inn Valley back to Imst. Good fitness is required, but the ride does not contain any difficult elements.
From the railway station of Imst-Pitztal, cross the Inn river and take the first small but steep climb past the Königskapelle chapel up to the Karröster Straße. Riders then complete just a short section on this road before turning off more or less immediately after the first bend onto a gravel path that runs slightly downhill in a northerly direction parallel to the Gurglbach stream. The trail leads past Imst with a barely noticeable incline, predominantly on loose terrain, in the direction of Nassereith. After leaving this village, take a side road climbing about 300 metres in altitude. After around 22.3 kilometres of riding in total, you turn off onto a gravel road. The following descent leads through small forests and along beautiful meadows with great views. Leave the trail and heads towards Gschwendt to the roundabout near Fronhausen. From here, continue south and, after a long left-hand bend, take a sharp right down to the cycle path. This leads to Mötz. After crossing this village you reach the Inn river. The path now runs parallel to the river, which is still almost free-flowing here. Parallel to the motorway, the cycle path goes past farms towards the entrance to the Ötztal Valley. Another wonderful section follows on the cycle path along and across the Inn river before the tour concludes next to the railway station.
