Beautiful and quiet tour through a part of the Tyrolean Alps. The tour is well signposted. Especially in the first part, sure-footedness is advisable.
The tour starts at Mitteregg and initially follows a forest road. Then a path leads down along the Rotlech. The path constantly twists up and down near the Rotlech. In three places, a certain sure-footedness is advisable, especially where the path runs over a gravel wall above the Rotlech.
After a bridge over one of the many tributary streams, you suddenly find yourself in a kind of park landscape, flanked by high mountains. This is the Tarrentonalm. About a kilometer further, you will find a farm where you can have something to drink and eat. One option is to return to Mitteregg afterwards. Personally, that is my recommendation.
You can also follow the road to Nassereith. For the most part, it gently meanders up the valley and then back down. At the end, there is a large and difficult descent. You drop quite quickly from 1500 to 950 meters. Then a path branches off to the left towards Fernsteinsee, quiet and almost flat through the forest and past a campsite. At Fernsteinsee, you can conveniently take a bus.
