Toodyay is a great old town about 85km outside of Perth close to the Avon River. The undulating terrain around here has made it a favourite spot for bike races for many years, which has given plenty of cyclists the opportunity to explore this historic town. Its name comes from an Aboriginal one which means ?place of plenty? relating to the fertile soil stepping back from the banks of the river. It may be lush close to the water, but as you get into the hinterland it?s typical dry, desolate Australian Bush.
