Gedinne was big news for nature lovers in September 2011. Indeed, a wolf was observed on the territory of Gedinne. In Belgium, this was more than 100 years ago since a wolf was last seen in the wild. The wolf in Gedinne was even caught on camera by the VRT program "Dieren in Nesten". According to legend, the last wolf in Belgium was shot by King Leopold I in the first half of the 19th century.
