The Muntschouwburg is located on a network of underground passages, on the site where a Dominican convent once stood. You can still see a tombstone of a Dominican at the artist entrance of the Muntschouwburg. Dominican convents were banned in 1796 with the French Revolution.
There were also properties of the Dominican convent on the Wolvengracht. There are said to be passages that create a connection with the Wolvengracht. The White Fathers of the
