The Kempen dock is located in the north of Antwerp and is located in the north-south direction. It is connected to the Houtdok, where the Kempen Bridge used to be, with a 15-wide passage. The Kempen dock was dug in 1873 and is 334.50 meters long, 150 meters wide and 3.33 meters deep. The Kempen dock is equipped with bank slopes and in about 1920 the construction of the northwest quay walls and cove 33 m/48 m x 16 m for the shipment of household waste and beer by barge of the Public Cleaning Service, in short, the "Manure Lease" began. Later, around 1970, they became quay walls on the south and east sides.
