Description

Hillegem is a railway stop along line 89 in Hillegem, a borough of Herzele. It is a station without ticket offices.
When the railway connection between Denderleeuw and Kortrijk was completed in 1868, no station was provided in Hillegem. Hillegem was not a large municipality at that time and a few kilometers away was Herzele. In 1895 a stop was opened, albeit without a station building and therefore without a ticket office. Over the years, little has changed at the station; today, Hillegem is still an extremely limited stop, almost without facilities. Since 1994, the station has not been served on weekends.
