It originates on Belgian territory from the confluence of its source rivers, the Eau Blanche and the Eau Noire in Dourbes, part of Viroinval, at an altitude of 150 meters. After a course of 18 km, it crosses the French border at Treignes and after a final meander of 4 km flows into the Meuse at Vireux-Molhain at an altitude of 110 meters.
