Hello dear visitor; Today, we are pleased to welcome you to our sparkling historic city.
The history of the city of Ronse is indeed extremely varied. You'll see this later when we pass by the Crypt, in the Art Deco district and in front of the train station.

May I offer to accompany you throughout this little excursion? We set off together for a walk of about an hour. The large loop that we are going to describe through the city is a little less than 4 km long.

If along the way you want to take a closer look, or give yourself a little rest, no problem of course. All you have to do is press pause'. The course will obviously take a little longer, but it will certainly be worth it.

One last quick remark before we get started:
Watch out for traffic! In your excitement, you might forget that you're surrounded by bicycles and cars driving around. I'm going to ask for your attention, it's true, but don't lose sight of everything around you.

We start our walk with a visit to the Hoge Mote where the tourist office is located.

The city of Ronse is located on the linguistic border between the green hills of the Flemish Ardennes and the Pays des Collines. You've probably already noticed that the area is indeed rather hilly. Maybe you know the Mont de l'Enclus, the Mont de l'Hotond and the Muziekberg? Three hills that have not finished giving a hard time to the most experienced cyclists. You will also be able to see that Ronse is a lively cultural city, which knows how to keep up with the times. In the heart of its peaceful green setting, the city is bubbling with life.

You are in the inner courtyard of the Hoge Mote, or High Court, which is one of the best-preserved historic buildings in the city. There are some historical sources about it dating back to the 15th century. At the time, the house was inhabited by canons. Of course, the building has undergone all kinds of transformations over the years. Even so, the building you see today is a fairly accurate reflection of what it was before.

Now position yourself so that you have your back to the tourist information desk. To your right, you can see the sawtooth roof of the Cambier-Robette textile factory. It is currently home to the MUST', the lively textile museum where you can admire looms, warping drums and other textile machinery, all still in working order! If you wish, you can visit this museum between April and October.
Throughout our walk, you will realize how much the past of the city of Ronse is linked to the textile industry.

Now let's get started.
You turn your back to the bridge. You continue to the left along the moat to reach the park. Then turn left again.
