The Paddestraat is well known in cycling circles. The cobblestones are always included in the Tour of Flanders. Did you know you are cycling on history here. The street partly follows the route of the Roman road Cologne-Boulogne. Nearby, this road crossed the Roman road from Bavai to Ghent. Because of this corssing of two Roamn roads, a Roman vicus was founded here.
