Bérismenil or Bérisménil is a village in the Belgian province of Luxembourg. It is located in Samrée, a borough of the town of La Roche-en-Ardenne, in the arrondissement of Marche-en-Famenne.
The current village of Bérismenil is probably a continuation of a village that arose around the nearby Celtic fortified fortress from the Iron Age called "Le Cheslé". The remains of this settlement, one of the largest in Belgium, are located about two kilometers from the church in a south-westerly direction on the Ourthe. The Ourthe is cut deep into the landscape here, creating a beautiful view. This area was probably inhabited from the eighth to the fifth century BC and since 1960 several archaeological excavations have begun. The origin of the name Bérismenil is not entirely clear, but could mean: mill near a fortification or house near the marsh. Hozês seems to be a nickname for the inhabitants.
