The church is dedicated to Barbara of Nicomedia. The first church was built here in 1074 with Saint Peter as patron saint. It was a cruciform church. The heavy substructure of the church is still preserved. The celebration and the lower part of the celebration tower were erected around 1300 and rest on trumpets. The current late Gothic chancel is from the 15th century, the transept was rebuilt in 1620. The octagonal celebration tower was partially rebuilt in the first half of the 17th century. The nave, destroyed in 1578, is neoclas-siist and dates from 1878-79. Heavy buttresses propped up the western front façade of the church. In the corner, formed by the north aisle and a transept arm, is an octagonal stair tower, along which one can reach the tower. In the church there are altars from the 17th and 18th centuries. The church organ was built by Hooghuys. The St. Anthony's Corridor from the 19th century, around the church, is an expression of popular devotion.
