We are walking here on the Ellezelles - Ronse section of the former railway line 87 Basilly - Tournai. It was part of the former line
Brussels - Ronse, which was once of great importance for the flourishing textile industry in the region. The line was inaugurated in October 1883. Passenger traffic was discontinued in 1963.
