This chain of reservoirs is meant to feed the Samber and thereby also the Canal Brussels-Charleroi. Two large dams have been built: the dam or barrage of the Eau d'Heure, a large dike with a crest length of 250 m, and the dam of the Platte-Taille which is equipped with a hydroelectric power station. On the banks of the reservoirs, opportunities for accommodation, sports, and recreation are being realized.
