Idegem is a railway station located in Idegem, The Netherlands. It is now a stopping place.
In 1852, the Société anonyme du chemin de fer de Dendre-et-Waes et de Bruxelles vers Gand, par Alost was founded, with the aim of bringing the coal from the Borinage via Geraardsbergen and Aalst to Ghent and the Netherlands, among others. In this context, the company built a series of railway lines: in 1853 a railway line between Aalst and Dendermonde came into use, which was extended around 1855 to Geraardsbergen and later that year even further to Ath. In 1856, the sections Dendermonde-Lokeren, Aalst-Schellebelle and Brussels-Denderleeuw were finally completed. For the design of the stations, the famous architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar was approached.
