Holy Cross Founding Church

The Holy Cross Finding Church is a church building in Mal in the Belgian municipality of Tongeren in the province of Limburg. The cemetery surrounds the church.
The neo-Gothic pseudo-basilica building consists of a built-in west tower and a three-nave ship with four bays, which ends in a choir with a straight bay and a five-sided choir closure. The choir is flanked by sacristies, the southern one was built later. The building is constructed of brick with natural stone finishes. The tower has three sections, with each facade ending in a gable and is crowned with a spire. On the west side, the tower has paired buttresses with five cuts in natural stone. On the west side, the tower has a pointed arch portal in natural stone, a pointed arch window in the second section, and rounded bell openings in natural stone on each side of the upper section. On either side of the tower, there is a pointed arch window in the west facade, also in natural stone. The side aisles and choir again feature pointed arch windows in natural stone and are connected around the church by a continuous limestone drip edge. The nave and choir are covered together under a gable roof of slate. Between the central nave and the side aisles, there are pointed arch arcades on columns with leaf capitals. From the inside, the building is vaulted by ribbed vaults.
