The 30 million visitors to the American pavilion at Expo 58 were amazed. In the modern 'Colosseum' the first computers and color televisions could be admired. They were the harbingers of modern times. The city of Brussels was allowed to hold the American pavilion afterwards and so it remained as the only foreign pavilion. In 1958, visitors were shown recording studios for radio and colour television. The circular pavilion still serves the studios and offices of Radio 2 Flemish Brabant, and the smaller 'theatre' next to it is used by the VRT for TV recordings.
