The majestic Saint Salvator’s Church, built in the 1770s, can definitely be referred to as unique: not many other Belgian churches were built in this classicist style. You should definitely pay attention to the impressive façade, the majestic vaults, the high altar and the main showpiece: the wooden pulpit with invisible stairs.
The interior was fully restored and the neighbourhood completely redeveloped in 2009, and nowadays the church shines like never before. Inside there is a time window which allows you to zap through the history of the building and Harelbeke.
