The neo-Romanesque parish church, located at a slight elevation, was built between 1870 and 1874 according to a design by the Limburg architect Herman Jaminé. The originally surrounding cemetery, which has not been used since 1888-1889, was cleared at the beginning of the 20th century; the last cemetery walls disappeared during World War I when the Town Square was leveled. The current boundary wall was built in 1953-54 and is accentuated by a row of linden trees to the south and north. The row on the north side was removed as part of the redevelopment of the Town Square in 2016-2017; the wall on this side was also demolished. The cemetery was transferred to the Molenberg on the Jezus-Eiksesteenweg.
