The Notelaer is a pearl of a neoclassical hunting pavilion on the Scheldedijk in Hingene. The small building is located on the domain of the imposing castle d'Ursel. It owes its name to the walnut trees that grew on the dike until the First World War. Duke d'Ursel had the pavilion built between 1791 and 1794 as a resting or hiding place during walks. It later also became the setting for noble dinners and was a base for hunting in the salt marshes.
